About the Whois Lookup
The Whois Lookup asks IANA which registry serves a TLD, queries that registry over port 43 and — where available — follows the referral to the registrar's whois server for the most detailed record. Parsed at the top: registrar, creation, update and expiry dates (with countdown), EPP status codes, DNSSEC and name servers; the raw response is shown below.
Watch the expiry countdown for your own domains and verify name servers match your DNS setup with the DNS Lookup.
Registrar, registration and expiry dates, domain status codes (like clientTransferProhibited) and authoritative name servers. Since GDPR, personal registrant details are redacted for most TLDs.
DENIC (the .de registry) only returns status and technical data over port-43 whois; full details require their web interface. Country registries each set their own policy — the tool shows whatever the registry publishes.
They are EPP locks. clientTransferProhibited prevents unauthorized transfers (good — most registrars set it by default). Statuses like pendingDelete or redemptionPeriod mean the domain is expiring and may become available.
